Yoane Wissa Bileko comes from a family originally from Kongo-Central and the greater Equateur. His grandfather is the co-founder of the UDPS , a Congolese political party . He is the older brother of the center forward of the Olympique Lyonnais reserve team, Eli Wissa. He also has French nationality .
Yoane Wissa Club career
Chateauroux (2012-2016)
In June 2012, while playing with the U17s of FC Épinay Athlético in the Paris region, Yoane Wissa was supervised by scouts from La Berrichonne de Châteauroux during an Essonne Cup final lost to Fleury on penalties (1-1 | 3-1 pen). A goalscorer, he convinced and finally joined the Châteauroux training center in August after conclusive trials. He was quickly upgraded with the U19s and joined the professional group then in National during the 2015-2016 season. Under a trainee contract during his first season with the professional group, he played 26 matches and scored eight goals, enough to interest higher level clubs.

Angers SCO (2016-2018)
Yoane Wissa signs his first professional contract onJune 27, 20163 by joining SCO d'Angers for three seasons. During the first half of the 2016-2017 season , he played two matches in Ligue 1 with SCO d'Angers 4 before being loaned for six months in Ligue 2 at Stade Lavallois during the winter transfer window. He played fifteen matches with Laval and scored two goals. He was then loaned again to AC Ajaccio and scored eight goals in Ligue 2 during avery successful first half of the 2017-2018 season. His good performances with Ajaccio were noticed and Angers received offers from several clubs including FC Lorient.
FC Lorient (2018-2021)
During the winter transfer window, Yoane Wissa joined FC Lorient for a period of four and a half years. Quickly appointed to the starting line-up by Mickaël Landreau , he scored his first goal with the Merlus onMarch 9against Chamois Niortais before repeating the feat against US Orléans to reach the ten goal mark in Ligue 2 for the season.
During the 2018-2019 season , Wissa was one of the most used players in the Lorient squad: he played 36 Ligue 2 matches and scored 6 goals. He also finished as the club's top passer with five assists.
Wissa has had an excellent start to the 2019-20 season , scoring four times in five games by the end of the season August 2019, and his investment is praised by his coach Christophe Pélissier : "He is rewarded because he makes the effort. We feel that he is hungry in the 18 meters". After eight days of championship, continuing on his momentum, he accumulates a total of six goals, he is thus the second best scorer of the championship. In September 2019 and January 2020, he received the UNFP trophy for Ligue 2 player of the month. In November 8, against Chamois Niortais, he found the back of the net again, after four matches without having scored a single goal.
On the night of July 2 to 3, 2021, he was the victim of an assault at his home where a woman, apparently unbalanced, sprayed him with an acidic liquid, seriously injuring his eyes.
Yoane Wissa Brentford FC (since 2021)
Yoane Wissa on 10 August 2021, signed for English club Brentford Football Club . This transfer was delayed by eye injuries sustained in his acid attack .
Selection with Congo
At the start of the 2020-2021 season, Yoane Wissa had a good Ligue 1 season with Lorient. Following his fine performances, he was called up for the first time in his career to the national team of Congo , the country he is from. On October 9, 2020, he received his first selection for the Democratic Republic of Congo team , in a friendly against Burkina Faso . He started the match as a starter and his team lost 3-0. Four days later, he scored his first goal, in a friendly match against Morocco , allowing his team to equalize (1-1). On March 25, 2022, he had his first selection in an official match counting for the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and scored the only goal for the Congolese.
On December 27, 2023, he was included in the list of twenty-four Congolese players selected by Sébastien Desabre to play in the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
