Deyemi Okanlawon  a veteran Nigerian actor known for his versatility in playing a wide range of roles.  He has become a major figure in Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry. 

Deyemi the Actor has revealed what profession he would have pursued if he had not worked in the film business.

In a recent interview with Pulse, Okanlawon said that if he hadn’t been a thespian, he would have become a Christian preacher.

“I don’t think I can call it a career path, it would have been more of a calling. I think I would have been a pastor [if I wasn’t an actor],”he stated.

He stated that he is against domestic violence, contrary to the belief that he is aggressive due to certain of his film roles.

The actor stated that the most ludicrous accusations about himself are that he is “expensive to hire.”

He did, however, clarify that it is not a rumor.

Deyemi the Actor has earned recognition as the most featured Nigerian actor in Netflix Originals.

He topped the list of highest-grossing Nollywood actors for the years 2020 and 2021 according to the FilmOne Box Office Yearbook.

Deyemi Okanlawon began his career in a different field altogether - he has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos and worked as a banker and sales and marketing executive before pursuing acting. Deyemi is indeed doing well for himself.
